Our Core Values

Buddhist Psychology aims to focus on…

Understanding the mind: Buddhist psychology aims to study the mind’s various aspects, such as consciousness, mental states, emotions, thoughts, and perceptions. It seeks to gain insight into the nature of these mental processes and how they influence human behavior and experiences.

Cultivating positive mental states: Buddhist psychology encourages the development of positive mental qualities, such as compassion, loving-kindness, generosity, and wisdom. Cultivating these qualities can foster emotional well-being and harmonious relationships with oneself and others.

Principal Commitment

The Buddhist Psychology page is based on the first commitment of His Holiness which is, encouraging people to be happy.

As human beings, we share a fundamental commonality – the pursuit of happiness and the desire to avoid suffering. Irrespective of our diverse backgrounds and beliefs, these aspirations unite us all. The cultivation of warm-heartedness and essential human values, including compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment, and self-discipline, is a path that every individual can traverse.

These values know no boundaries of religion, culture, or ideology; they are universal in their appeal and relevance. Embracing these qualities does not require adherence to any specific faith; rather, they form a shared foundation for fostering a compassionate and harmonious world. By incorporating these human values into our lives, we can create a profound impact on our own well-being and the well-being of those around us.
